Gujarat Giants Franchise

Gujarat Giants is aligned with Adani Sportsline’s overarching philosophy of inculcating a culture of sports at the grassroots level and creating globally competitive opportunities for future champions.

It started its journey in 2017. With its slogan, “Garjega Gujarat”, the team roared its way into the finals of the Pro-Kabaddi League in two consecutive years, 2017 and 2018, and was declared runner-up in both. Its boxing team forayed into the Big Bout Boxing League in 2019 under the captainship of top-seeded boxer Amit Panghal. The team, comprising young and fiery boxing champions like Ashish Kumar and Poonam Punia, went on to become the winners of the maiden boxing championship.

In 2022, we participated in the Ultimate Kho-Kho League to realize our vision of strengthening the roots of homegrown sports across India. We also made our foray into the Legends League cricket league, with the Gujarat Giants (men’s) team. In 2023, our team, led by Parthiv Patel and featuring legends Jacques Kallis and Chris Gayle, participated in the Legends League T20's second season.

In 2023, we forayed in the inaugural Women’s Premier League, a big step towards our commitment of strengthening women’s sports.

Adani Ahmedabad Marathon

The Adani Group's Ahmedabad Marathon is a heartfelt tribute to India's Armed Forces. The marathon began in 2017 and has become a beloved event, featuring one of the world's most scenic routes. Runners can participate in the full marathon, half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km run.

Since 2021, the Ahmedabad Marathon has been listed on the 'Global Marathon Event List - AIMS World Running', making it the only run from Ahmedabad to be featured on the global list.

The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon completed its seventh lap in November, with over 22,500 participants nationwide rallying for this noble cause. Guided by Race Director Dave Cundy, the marathon made history by centering itself at the heart of Ahmedabad, coursing through iconic sites along the Sabarmati Riverfront.

Athlete Support: #GarvHai

Adani Group's nationwide programme, #GarvHai, is dedicated to nurturing India's future sports champions and supporting them in their quest to bring glory to the nation across global sporting events like the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and Olympics.

#GarvHai began as a pilot initiative for the 2016 Rio Olympics and has since evolved into a national programme that empowers potential sports stars from economically challenging backgrounds. Over the years, #GarvHai has supported 26 athletes from a range of disciplines, including boxing, wrestling, tennis, javelin throw, shooting, running, shotput, brisk walking, archery, and more.

Six out of the 19 athletes backed by #GarvHai went on to represent India at the Tokyo Olympics. These include wrestlers Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Deepak Punia, boxer Amit Panghal, Indian women's hockey team captain Rani Rampal, tennis player Ankita Raina, javelin thrower Shivpal Singh, and race walker KT Irfran. Ravi Dahiya, supported by the Adani Group since 2019, won a Silver Medal in the 57 kg division at the Tokyo Olympics.

Adani Sportsline has recently partnered with Team India as the principal sponsor for the Commonwealth Games 2022 and upcoming Asian Games & Paris Olympics. At the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, #GarvHai athletes including Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Wrestler Deepak Punia, and Boxer Amit Panghal secured three Gold Medals for the country.

At the 2023 Asian Games, Deepak Punia secured India's first wrestling silver, adding another feather to Adani Sportsline's cap.

UAE International League T20

Adani Sportsline's acquisition of franchise rights in the UAE's International League T20 demonstrates their desire to promote India's presence on the global cricket stage and engage with fans worldwide.

The tournament, licensed by the Emirates Cricket Board, features six franchise teams battling it out over 34 matches, with the Gulf Giants emerging victorious in the inaugural International League T20.

This investment creates opportunities for up-and-coming cricketers to showcase their talent and gain valuable exposure, paving the way for the development of future sports champions for India.

Our team lead by cricketing legend Andy Flower clinched the maiden trophy under the captainship of James Vince and stalwarths like Shimron Hetmyer, Chris Lynn.
